The Founder of Aikido
Morihei Ueshiba Morihei Ueshiba was born on December 14, 1883 in the village of Tanabe, Japan. He studied many forms of budo through the course of his life and became a master of Daito-Ryu Aikijujutsu. These studies led him to develop his own art called Aikido. Writings and Poetry Brandishing his sword, My enemy in front Prepares to attack But behind him, I am already standing When practicing with someone who has realized aikido principle within his being, all bad feelings and doubt are swept away and you gain a greater understanding of yourself. Aiki is the power of harmony, Of all beings, all things working together. Relentlessly train yourself---- Followers of the Way. Budo is not a matter of physical strength, the handling of weapons with great skill, nor the ability to strike another person down before he can do the same to you. It is the path toward eternal wisdom and spiritual understanding. Nevertheless, if it is not effective in actual practice, it loses its spiritual value and uniqueness as well. In the true budo, there is no enemy. You shouldn't train to become strong or to be able to defeat an enemy, but rather that you can be of use to world peace. Aiki cannot be exhausted By words written or spoken. Without dabbling in idle talk, Understand through practice. Theme by Še107 Theme Group | |||
